Branch History
The Kent Branch Library opened in 1917 and was built with funds from famous library philanthropist Andrew Carnegie. It replaced the first full-service branch library, which operated out of Glenwood School beginning in 1915. The Kent Branch was named after Eliza M. Kent, an assistant librarian at Toledo Public Library for many years, including the first manager of the children’s department.
