Babysitting clinics are offered by the American Red Cross and the Toledo-Lucas County Public Library. All participants must be 11 years of age or older. The $25 fee, covering the course and handbook, must be paid at the time of registration.(Payments must be made by check.) A Babysitter's Portfolio and First Aid Kit are available for purchase at the training session. Classes must have a minimum of 10 and can have no more than 20. Students must attend all 6 hours to receive a certificate.

Want to join Summer Reading Club but fines keep you from checking out books? Read off your fines! Children up to 17 years old who owe late fees on their cards can come to the Library and read. For every 15 minutes of reading you will pay off $1.00 in library fines.

Picture that Bug      June 9 - July 26, 9 a.m.      Grades 5-12
Seen any interesting bugs? Make a digital photo of a bug that you like and e-mail it to us at Holland Library. We will display the pictures at the info desk. Details will be available at the beginning of Summer Reading Club.

American Red Cross Babysitting Clinic      August 4 - August 5, 5:30 - 8:30 p.m.      Ages 11+
Babysitting clinics are offered by the American Red Cross and the Toledo-Lucas County Public Library. All participants must be 11 years of age or older. The $25 fee, covering the course and handbook, must be paid at the time of registration. A Babysitter's Portfolio and First Aid Kit are available for purchase at the training session. Classes must have a minimum of 10 and can have no more than 20. Students must attend all 6 hours to receive a certificate.

Before there was the Internet and Wii, there was a time when we would play games one-on-one and work puzzles that we actually had to touch. We celebrate Volunteens--the good work they've done and the hands-on experience they've gained by volunteering at the library--with old-school board games, puzzles, pizza, punch and prizes.

Write and share a short book review. A great way to discover who's reading the same types of books as you, and to brush up on your public speaking skills. Who knows? A book discussion group or other kind of club might emerge.
